One of the main goals at Iraqi Children’s Hope is to empower widowed women to support themselves and their children.
Jenan, a widow, lost her husband five years ago and has struggled to care for her five children ever since. She was grateful for the chance to learn how to manage a small business through one of our workshops.
I.C. Hope has established a small store for Jenan that will help her support herself and her children.
UPDATE: Eight weeks after opening her shop, Jenan told our staff that she made $65 the first week, a record paycheck for her. She bough more inventory for the store to add kitchenware items and children’s clothes. She is very happy with her progress and the promising future that lies ahead for her family.
