Maryam Alaa, 13 years old, lost her dad when she was just five. Her dad died from heart failure, leaving Maryam, her brothers (Sharuq, born 2001; Ahmad, born 2007), and her sister (Shams, born 2004) to face tough times. They need simple things that many of us take for granted: enough food, a good place to sleep, and a chance to keep going to school. Maryam is doing great in school, but without help, she might have to stop going because it costs too much for her family.

Their mom is doing her best to take care of Maryam and her siblings, but it’s really hard without enough money. They especially need things like mattresses to sleep on and help with school costs.
